Warning: Ranting ahead! Read at your own risk.

So it's official, technology hates me. My laptop decided to die on me about three weeks ago and I had to send it in for repairs. Thankfully it was still covered under my warranty but that was only one of the few good things about the entire fiasco. The other good things were that they were able to repair it and with all of the new parts that I got my computer is practically brand new. However, while it was away the hard drive crashed and so they replaced that too. Which means I lost basically everything. Ugh, why me?

My computer seems so strange to me now that it's not even funny. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm happy that it's fixed and that it has new parts but I would like to still have my old hard drive. I lost a lot of my music, my artwork and photos, documents from the past year or so related to school, among other things. This isn't the first time something has happened that caused me to lose everything; I've had some bad luck with computer viruses in the past. You would think I'd learn to be a bit better about backing stuff up...but apparently not. What's really a pain is that I was just starting to back that stuff up so that something like this wouldn't happen to me. Obviously I was a little too late on that one.

Oh well, nothing I can do now but try to get my computer back to some semblance of normalcy. Of course it's going to be quite a while before that happens. At least I changed the wallpaper to something that didn't scream new computer; I couldn't stand seeing the laptop brand's logo staring me in the face. Only time I want my laptop to look like a new computer is when it's a new computer.

Sometimes it seems like if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all.
